Day 2- Gotcha Lingao!!!

We met him this afternoon in the hotel lobby!! He was scared out of his mind, rightfully so. He left his foster family at noon today with no understanding of the world he would be entering.  There was about an hour of pure terror in his eyes-along with a single tear drop. :-(  He stuck close to me..but still had empty eyes- he was terrified.

Luckily, the girls are making him feel at home by bringing their crazy to the conversation! We had dinner in our hotel room (he ate great ) and then the girls had a bath (he wanted no part). It got lively after dinner as the girls had been up since 3 am.  The crazy punch drunk girls, the tv, and a $4 can of Pringles all got him to open up. By 715 everyone in the family was sleeping. Jet lag is kicking everyone's tail - jake especially. He slept through Lingaos arrival - which is fine with us - they now have their entire lives in front of them!!

We have a long day of appointments tomorrow. Please pray lingao continues to feels peace about our family. It's funny - the crazy the kids act the more he loves them. But the Chinese are very proper so my kids running around in public like lunatics is not really looked upon in a positive light. We are working on the balance!!

I know bringing our kids was THE BEST decision we made. We are all growing and learning an insane amount. Listening to Alexis process all that is happening in china (why is it so foggy all the time, are those ppl living in those buildings that are falling apart going to be ok?) confirms that even a 5 year old can have an eye opening experience! If you are an adoptive parent and thinking about it - do it!!! You won't regret it.

Here are a few pics!!

With the director at our hotel...our first glimpse of him!! (Notice the smog continues)

His first smile - only given after the girls slap stick jumped on each other!
